Tulsa EV Coalition Meeting

November 29, 2017
Noon-1:00 pm
Williams Tower I
First Floor – Spirit Aerosystems Room
1 W 3rd St
Tulsa, OK 74103

Lunch will be provided. Please register here so we can get an accurate headcount for lunch orders. Several issues surrounding EVs have come up fairly suddenly that need attention. The meeting will start promptly at noon so we can adequately address all the agenda items. Doors will open at 11:45 for networking. Items on the agenda will include:

  • Public comment period is now open on the Volkswagen Settlement through Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality. If you have not followed this, the state of Oklahoma will be receiving nearly $21 million as a part of VW’s settlement over their diesel emissions cheating scandal. ODEQ will be administering this funding, which must be used for emissions reduction projects. Up to 15% of this funding can go toward public EV charging, but this is optional. We will be discussing the public comment process, and offering guidance to anyone who would like to submit a public comment on the use of these funds. For more information, please visit ODEQ’s website.
  • Oklahoma’s newly passed EV registration fee was recently struck down by the state supreme court. It will likely come up again in the 2018 legislative session. We will discuss the pros and cons of last year’s legislation, and what we expect to see next time.
  • Congress is currently debating the $7,500 federal tax credit for EVs and the $2,500 credit for plug-in hybrids. We will discuss these credits and the implications of eliminating them.

Several parking garages within walking distance of the meeting offer EV charging! Please see map below for locations. Note: you do not have to pay to charge, but you will have to pay to park.

If you are unable to attend but would like to know more about any of the items on the agenda, please feel free to email or call 918-579-9494.
