Tulsa Area Clean Cities (TACC) is one of over 75 coalitions across the nation in the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Clean Cities and Communities Partnership working to advance alternative fuels, efficiency improvements, and new transportation choices. We work at the local level with over 60 active stakeholders across eastern Oklahoma toward shared goals of increasing domestic energy security, reducing fleet operating costs, improving air quality, and growing mobility options. The efforts of TACC stakeholders create economic opportunity and improve quality of life in eastern Oklahoma communities.
Our Vision
A future where efficient and affordable transportation solutions are available to all members of the community and air pollution is less associated with transportation.
Our Mission
To support transportation sustainability by advancing local deployment of fuels, technologies, practices, and mobility options that improve energy efficiency, convenience, and cost.
Since its establishment in 1997, TACC has been hosted as a program of the Indian Nations Council of Governments (INCOG), the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Tulsa area. In December 2024, TACC expanded the coalition’s service area to cover all of eastern Oklahoma. The western half of the state is served by Central Oklahoma Clean Cities.

We educate and engage fleets and individuals on alternative fuels and associated technologies, vehicle availability, and refueling options,

provide technical and problem solving assistance to our stakeholders on issues across the alternative fuels field, from identifying the best fuels for a project to navigating the funding opportunities and incentives to bring it to life,
and manage several collaborative grant programs to educate first responders and code officials, support growth in alternative fuels, and improve air quality.
